Distraction Related Driving Fatalities Increased by 8.8% from 2014 to 2015

From 2014 to 2015, there was a 7.2% increase in motor vehicle traffic fatalities.  The 7.2% increase is the largest percentage increase in nearly 50 years.

From 2014 to 2015, there was an 8.8% increase in motor vehicle traffic fatalities involving distraction affected crashes.  The 8.8% increase is nearly three times the rate of increase of motor vehicle traffic fatalities involving alcohol affected crashes.

Don’t drive distracted this holiday season.
