Ex-Celtics Star Bill Russell Sues NCAA, Electronic Arts Over Image Use
Former NBA player Bill Russell has filed a lawsuit against the NCAA, claiming the agency violated antitrust laws by “selling videos using his likeness without paying him or seeking his consent.” The suit claims the NCAA kept former student athletes from receiving compensation for the “commercial use” of their likeness. Experts believe Russell’s suit will probably be combined with other similar lawsuits filed by former collegiate athletes.
